Current Political Issues - GET INVOLVED!

Senate Bill S.258 "Saving Kids from Dangerous Drugs Act of 2010" poses a serious threat to medical cannabis patients in Colorado.  We all need to take action NOW to stop this disastrous attack on cannabis infused products that are commonly dispensed in our centers.  This bill would increase the penalties when any currently illicit drug is added to a food or candy to "entice or attract children". The bill makes NO EXCEPTION for cannabis infused products and would destroy this vital segment of the medical marijuana care products.   SB 258 has already passed out of the senate without any dissent or a roll call vote.  We need to STOP this bill before it moves through the House.  While well intended, the bill must be altered to carve out an exception for cannabis infused medical products.

Every patient and caregiver needs to call their congressman's local and DC offices to explain how  patient care would be harmed if this bill is passed and ask that the congressman strongly oppose this bill.  Please follow up with a visit to the local office to speak with a staff member and educate them on the benefits of infused cannabis medicines and how the option of medicating without the necessity of smoking is vital.
